Kindergarten

Welcome to Kindergarten!

Kindergarten at Friends Christian is where your child’s school story really begins: a full day of discovery, faith, and friendship, in a classroom small enough for them to be truly known.

Hands-On Learning & Discovery

Every week brings something new to explore. Kindergartners get hands-on science with a monthly visit from Mr. Science, covering everything from the solar system to volcanoes; a dedicated library time that builds a real love of reading; music class exploring rhythm, notation, and composers from around the world; and an introduction to sports like soccer, baseball, and basketball in PE. On the playground, imaginative play and real friendships take shape every single day.

Faith From Day One

Every week, Kindergartners gather for chapel, reciting pledges, praying, and worshiping through song and dance, learning from a chapel speaker in a way that’s built just for them. It’s often a child’s very first taste of church community outside the home, and it sets the tone for the rest of their day.

Our Teachers & Community

Kindergarten teachers at Friends Christian know every child’s name, strengths, and personality within the first weeks of school. Your family becomes part of a small, caring community where your child is never just a face in the crowd.

Known and Supported

Small class sizes and a nurturing environment mean your child is known and greeted by name every day. As part of the Elementary School organization, Kindergartners also have access to the Student Success Program, so any gaps get caught early.

Academics Built to Last

Kindergartners build real reading, writing, and early math skills, alongside Bible, science, and social studies, all taught by credentialed, Christ-centered teachers. The goal isn’t just readiness for first grade; it’s a foundation the rest of their education can build on.

See Kindergarten for Yourself

The best way to understand a day in Kindergarten is to visit. Schedule a tour and see the playground, the classroom, and Mr. Science’s next lesson.
