Academics

Excellence, Grade by Grade
At Friends Christian, academic rigor and faith aren’t separate tracks; they grow together. Every teacher is both state-credentialed and ACSI-certified, every classroom is Biblically integrated, and every student is known well enough to be challenged at exactly the right level.
What Makes Our Academics Different

Biblically Integrated
A Christian worldview is woven through every subject, not taught as a separate period.
Credentialed & Accredited
Every K–8 teacher holds a state credential and ACSI certification; the school itself is WASC/ACSI accredited.
Individually Supported
The Student Success Program meets students exactly where they are, from short-term skill reinforcement to ongoing academic support.
Whole-Child Balanced
Academics, arts, athletics, and faith develop together, not in competition for a student’s time.
Helping Every Student Thrive
At Friends Christian, every child is uniquely created by God with individual strengths, challenges, and purpose. Led by Education Specialists, our Student Success Program provides research-based support tailored to each student, from targeted reading intervention and ELA/Math support to small-group or one-on-one instruction. Specialists work closely with classroom teachers on personalized learning plans, and services flex as students progress.
- Kindergarten–4th Grade: Orton-Gillingham aligned literacy intervention in small groups, focused on phonics, reading, and spelling.
- 5th–8th Grade: Smaller Foundations classes in reading and math, with built-in accommodations for grade-level curriculum.
- Accommodation Plans: Individualized plans based on documentation like an IEP, built together with parents, teachers, and Education Specialists.
How students are identified: Through teacher observations, school-wide assessments, academic history, or formal evaluations like an IEP.
Also available: Full-time School Counselors at Elementary and Middle School, plus on-site partnerships with Emmaus Road Christian Counseling and Mighty Kids Speech (reduced out-of-pocket cost).
